Freeport and Port Lucaya are the two main towns also known as the twin cities in Grand Bahama, where the majority of accommodations, restaurants, bars, and shops are located. Both destinations straddle the water on the southwestern side of the island offering a wide variety of all-inclusive resorts, hotels, and guesthouses that are located within walking distance of popular eateries, shops, and beachfront establishments. Downtown Freeport is home to the 10-acre duty-free International Bazaar, a popular shopping destination as well as the Casino Royale Theatre and the Bahamia Casino. Both are busy, favorite cruise ship stops for Caribbean cruise lines and the beaches here are one of the main draws.
