CANCUN - HOTEL ZONES
Costa Mujeres
Costa Mujeres, also known as Play Mujeres, is a stretch of beach north of the Cancun Hotel Zone and sits across the bay on the mainland, just north of Cancun. The beauty of this area is its location, it has a calm and secluded vibe but is only 30 minutes away from Cancun's bustling restaurants and nightlife and a quick boat ride from the island of Isla Mujeres.
Costa Mujeres boasts all-inclusive resorts that line the white sandy shores with beautiful views of the turquoise waters. These resorts offer a wide variety of amenities like spas, pools, water parks, and watersports. Also here you'll find Isla Blanca beach, perfect for basking in the sun; beautiful Chacmuchuch Lagoon, a great place for snorkeling or kitesurfing; Golfers can enjoy Play Mujeres Golf Club. This area also boasts one of its own archeological treasures, the Mayan site of El Meco. From here, visitors can make the trek to Tulum and tour the centuries-old temples hovering on cliffs over the Caribbean Sea. And if you're looking for adventure, go swim with whale sharks in the water surrounding Isla Mujeres (from May to September).
Hotel Zone
The Cancun Hotel Zone, also known as Zona Hotelera, is a six-mile stretch of land in Cancún, Mexico between the Caribbean Sea and Nichupté Lagoon that's a major tourist area with lots of hotels, restaurants, shopping, and beaches. It's also known for its nightlife and evening entertainment.
The main road, K'uk'ulkan Avenue, is shaped like the number 7 and is named after a feathered serpent deity from Maya mythology. Most hotels are located directly on the street, including all-inclusive resort and 5-star hotels. The many attractions here are archaeological ruins, golf courses, wildlife centers, interactive aquarium Cancun, Xcaret Park, and an Underwater museum snorkeling at Paraiso Nizuc.
