Bur Dubai

The Bur Dubai neighborhood is located in the historic district in Dubai, situated on the western side of the Dubai Creek, the name of the area translates to Mainland Dubai. The Bur Dubai area runs from Jumeirah to the Dubai Creek, which separates Bur Dubai from Deira. This is the oldest part of Dubai and home to several historic sites, museums and mosques including the Grand Mosque and the country`s oldest Hindu temple. The Al Bastakiya and Al Fahidi Forst (Dubai Museum) are located here and the district is filled with Old houses boasting original Arabic wind towers set in courtyards. The quarter is also filled with plenty of tourist attractions including narrow, winding streets filled with shops and souks, restaurants, art galleries, cafes and of course the Creek which features abras and water taxis for boat rides along the water. The Dubai Creek was extended in 2016 back to the sea which in turn made Bur Dubai into an island. The area is a popular place to live and is filled with apartment buildings and attractions down by the water.

Deira

The traditional neighborhood of Deira sits on the northern bank of the Dubai Creek, bordered by the Persian Gulf. Port Saeed, a small port located along the Deira shore, where ancient dhow cruises and shipping boats dock. Historically the area was known as Dubai`s commercial and old financial center but has changed over the years and is now a well-known residential district of the city. Some of the most famous attractions here are in Al Ras, which is an area filled with old souks (markets), including ones specializing in textiles and clothing, perfume, spices and of course the world renowned Deira Gold Souk. A busy neighborhood packed with modern buildings, shopping malls, restaurants, businesses, hotels, and entertainment. Two of the area`s architectural sites include the Heritage House built in 1890 and The Al-Ahmadiya School, the oldest school in Dubai constructed in 1912. The Dubai International Airport is located in the south of Deira. The Dubai Fish Market is here and the Corniche a promenade leading to the Palm Deira.

Downtown Dubai

The main attraction in downtown Dubai is the Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Fountains, and The Dubai Mall. The area is actually considered to be `New Dubai` and was previously known as Downtown Burj Duba and Bur Dubai and Deira were the original downtown areas in the city. The neighborhood is between the Dubai Marina in the south and the city of Sharjah in the North and is filled with skyscrapers, hotels, residences, shopping, restaurants and plenty of family attractions like the Dubai Aquarium (located inside the Dubai Mall), an Underwater Zoo, Dubai Ice Rink and The Souk Al Bahar. Situated along Sheikh Zayed Road in the North west with Business Bay situated in the South and Financial Center Road to the northeast. The `New Dubai` is one of the most visited destinations in the world, an epi-center for tourism, a 500-acre mega development filled with magnificent buildings and attractions that cannot be missed. The Dubai Opera is a new addition to the area along with several world class hotels and the location of one of the most anticipated events in the world the New Year`s Eve Gala held here annually.

Jumeirah

The entire coastal area located west of the Dubai Creek extending to Palm Jebel Ali is considered Jumeirah. Dubai`s premier beach area, this exclusive neighborhood that is home to the city`s luxurious hotels including the seven-star Burj Al Arab Hotel and the Madinat Jumeirah. As well as the awe-inspiring Palm Jumeirah Island, home of the Atlantis Resort and the Aquaventure Water Park. Jumeirah Road `Beach Road` runs along Jumeirah beach for just over 9 miles, beginning at the Jumeirah Mosque all the way down to Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR) passing the Burj Al Arab, Wild Wadi, and the Dubai Marina, it runs parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road. The area is filled with excellent restaurants, cafes, bars, shopping, boutiques, villas, and resorts. Safa Park is a great place to enjoy a picnic, a beautiful area decorated with vibrant gardens, manicured green lawns and children`s playgrounds, including sports fields.

The Palm

One of the most magnificent wonders in Dubai is The Palm Jumeirah, which Dubai has dubbed the eighth wonder of the world. It is the largest man-made island in the world and a recognizable landmark in Dubai, shaped like a giant palm tree with the trunk connecting to the mainland just off the coast of Jumeirah Beach. The amazing Atlantis hotel is perched at the top of the island, visible from the island`s main road, sitting on a crescent at the top of the Palm, featuring its own water park, Aquaventure, Dolphin Bay and The Lost Chambers. International hotels such as the Waldorf-Astoria, Fairmont, and Anantara are also featured on The Palm Trunk which is referred to as The Golden Mile. The Palm has so much to offer including restaurants, hotels, shopping malls and plenty of entertainment options. The monorail runs from the base of the island up to the crescent.

Al Barsha

The Al Barsha neighborhood is a collection of communities situated in the west Dubai, south of Al Sufouh, a newly developed residential community that is not very well populated compared to other areas in the city. The area is bounded by Sheikh Zayed Road and Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road. Some of the landmarks based here are the Dubai Autodrome and the Mall of the Emirates.
