City Center
Harare’s city center boasts wide streets that feature a mix of historic, post-war, and modern buildings, with some notable colonial-era buildings such as the Parliament Building and Civic Centre. There are several upscale hotels and other accommodations that are luxurious and modern. There are many significant sights found in the central business district such as the Kopje Africa Unity Square, the Harare Gardens, the National Gallery, and the National Archives. There are many museums in the heart of Harare such as the Zimbabwe Museum of Human Sciences. Rotten Row is a sub-district in downtown Harare located at the intersection of Prince Edward Street and Samora Machel Avenue, it was named after a road in London of the same name. It is best known as the city’s legal district and home to the central library. There are a significant number of 3-4-star hotels that are affordable and close to major attractions, dining, and entertainment options. The city center also boasts luxurious hotels, rustic lodges, boutique guesthouses, homely B&Bs, and hostels.
