Ruhengeri is the closest town to the Volcanoes National Park, it makes a convenient base for exploring the park and surrounding areas and tracking the famous mountain Gorillas. The town is small and pleasant, the heart of town is quaint and boasts a bustling central market. The town offers some great accommodation options for every budget with a mixture of hotels, guest houses, and campsites. The town center is walkable and offers a mixture of things to see and do, as well as restaurants, bars, shopping, and entertainment options. There are some great upscale accommodations that offer guests some fantastic amenities as well as wonderful onsite restaurants and are within close proximity to the famous park.
