    Palembang, at the time of the Srivijayan Empire, it was also known for its original name patterned after the civilization it represents Srivijayan. Modern-day Palembang, however, is the capital city of South Sumatra and is the second-largest city in the island, next to Sedan. References described Palembang as one of the most archaic cities in the Malay Archipelago and possibly across South-East Asia as well.
