  • Takamatsu

    Takamatsu is the capital of Kagawa, Japan's smallest prefecture. The city's port used to be the main entry point to Shikoku Island until the opening of the Seto Ohashi Bridge in 1988. The Matsudaira Clan, relatives of the Tokugawa Shogun, controlled Takamatsu's former castle town and surrounding area, then known as the Sanuki Province, during most of the Edo Period. The ruling clan is also responsible for the construction of Ritsurin Koen, one of Japan's most beautiful gardens. Visit and explore the Ritsurin Garden, Yashima, Shikoku Mura Village, Onigashima Cave, Sanuki Kid's Kingdom and so much more.

  • Iya Valley

    Iya Valley is a remote, mountainous valley in western Tokushima Prefecture. Located deep in the heart of Shikoku Island, the secluded valley is characterized by steep mountain slopes and deep rocky gorges which were traditionally crossed by vine bridges. Three of the vine bridges, Iya Kazurabashi and the Oku-Iya Kazurabashi bridges, are maintained to this day and remain some of the most popular attractions of the area. Iya is also well known for its hot springs and outdoor activities.
