Kayseri, located in the heart of Anatolia, is one of the oldest cities in Turkey and sits in the valley right below Mount Erciyes, one of Turkey's most beautiful mountains. Just outside of town, you will be able to tour the oldest settlement in Asia Minor, Kultepe. While you're in town, be sure to visit a horse stable and, if you can, take a ride on the wild and graceful Yiliki horses. As a matter of fact, Kayseri is one of the most important carpet and kilim production centers in Anatolia. Moreover, its located close to the Byzantine fortress, the 13th century Huant Hatun Mosque and Medrese, with the Mahperi Hatun Mausoleum, comprise the first Seljuk complex, the Huant Hatun Complex, in Anatolia.
