Podgorica

Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, sits at the confluence of two rivers, the Ribnica and the Moraca. Inhabited since the Stone Age, Montenegro's cultural and economic epicenter has been ruled not just by the Montenegrins but also by the Ottomans and the Serbs, the latter of whom named the city Titograd. Today's Podgorica is largely made up of historic buildings from the Ottoman era and urban sprawl from the Yugoslav postwar era.

The Palace, the Court, the mosque and the Slave Market are also part of this unique spot. Another reason so many people are attracted to Ulcinj is the beaches which are considered the best in Montenegro. Ulcinj also offers shops, traditional taverns and restaurants, some boasting amazing views with of the sea and the town below.

This city is actually 2,500 years old, which makes it one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic coast. The Stari Grad (Old Town) is almost a mini Dubrovnik with marbled streets and Venetian walls rising from the clear waters below while the Citadela offers striking views.
