Quite a variety of 'ancient cities' that have been settled for at least two millennia have become very popular resort towns all over the area: to the north of Burgas there are Pomorie, Nessebar, Sunny Beach, and Sveti Vlas, while to the south lie resorts and beautiful villas in Sozopol and Primorsko.
