Zurich is famous for luxurious lifestyles, high-end shopping, and fancy chocolates) and Lugano (famous for its beautiful quasi-Mediterranean scenery, its Film Festival, and for being the residence of the Nobel Prize winner, Hermann Hesse). Zurich, Geneva, Bern and Lucerne are models of Swiss efficiency. Less busy are the lakeside resorts, including fashionable Montreux on Lake Geneva.

Zurich
Zurich is a stunningly gorgeous city with a beautifully-preserved old town, endless greenery, wondrous snow-capped mountains, fresh air, and crystal clear lake views. The city's extraordinary museums, churches and galleries, confirm its position as Switzerland's spiritual, if not political, capital. There is also a hip, less conventional side to Zurich. Zuri West, once the industrial section, has become the 'it spot' over the last decade, with loft living, galleries, museums, experimental theater and clubs.

Lugano
The first thing you'll notice about Lugano is that the views are stunning! This fashionable city lies in the Swiss canton of Ticino where it graces the lakeshore with its tree-lined promenade, stately hotels, banks, and churches; while high above, Mount San Salvatore and Mount Brè flank the city and provide stunning forested backdrops that frame charming mountain top villages. Taken from Milan by the Swiss in 1512, it was ruled as a subject district until the dissolution of the old Swiss Confederation in 1798.
Explore the Old Town, enjoy the beautiful Lake Lugano, wander the lovely Parco Civico-Ciani, take the funicular up to Monte Brè, admire the lovely San Lorenzo Cathedral, learn some history of the area by visiting Hermann Hesse Museum, check out the Swissminiatur, hike the Olive Grove Trail, sample some chocolates at The Alprose Chocolate Museum, visit the lovely nearby town of Vico Morcote, and so much more! -
