Lamanai
Once a major waterway for the ancient Mayans, the New River meanders through Orange Walk District linking its towns and villages, primal jungles, sugar cane farms, and some of Belize's most awe inspiring ruins. The Lamanai Mayan temple ruins serve as a reminder of the flourishing culture that dominated this area more than 3,000 years ago, and visitors can still reach Lamanai by boat, as the Mayans did for millennia.

San Ignacio
San Ignacio is cradled in a beautiful valley just south of where the Mopan and Macal Rivers converge.
