The most recognized natural area is the Pico Bonito National Park); and after that, to Tela Beach (a scenic, laid-back beach town on the north shore of Honduras. This area offers some of the country`s best beaches and fantastic scuba diving, as well as variety of hotels, restaurants and hidden places where nature can be appreciated). Finally, return to San Pedro Sula to catch your flight back home. These destinations are connected by private airport/hotel/airport transfers. This is a flexible vacation package. Don Pedro de Alvarado founded it with the name of `Villa de San Pedro de Puerto Caballos`, and within the next 5 years was know as San Pedro Sula, with the name Sula deriving from the local dialect Usula, meaning `valley of birds`.

Fishing, as well as exports of bananas, pineapple, and grapefruit, are essential to the economy of the area. The mountain Pico Bonito provides an impressive backdrop to the city.
