Unesco World Heritage Sites Of Brazil


The spectacular and diverse country of Brazil features 22 UNESCO World Heritage Sites including 14 cultural sites, 7 natural sites, and 1 mixed property. There are many amazing destinations in Brazil including the stunning natural paradise of the Amazon Rainforest, and Pantanal with its unique biodiversity, along with sensational cities like Salvador da Bahia, Ouro Preto, and Rio De Janeiro. The Historic Town of Ouro Preto was the first site inscribed on the UNESCO list in 1980, and in 1983 Jesuit Missions of the Guaranis was accepted to the list in a joint bid with Argentina, making it the first trans-border property in Brazil. In 1986 the Iguacu National Park was enlisted for its natural significance, and the Valongo Wharf Archaeological Site was inscribed in 2017.
