Warrnambool is a city along the Great Ocean Road, in Victoria, Australia. Its main beach, the sandy Bathing Beach, runs in front of vast Lake Pertobe Adventure Park. The nearby Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village explores the area's seafaring history through a large shipwreck collection. Thunder Point Coastal Reserve, with its rocky ocean scenery, encompasses Shelly Beach. East is Logans Beach Whale Watching Platform. Believe it or not, it has fantastic markets, artworks, beautiful parks and lakes, scenic views, recreational activities, and notorious shipwrecks. A highlight of any trip to Warrnambool is the Southern Right Whales that arrive each winter for their annual calving.
Take one of the most spectacular driving routes in the world; "The Great Ocean Road" in Australia. From there, drive to Apollo Bay (entry point for some of Australia's most celebrated short and multi-day walks, and is the perfect base to explore the Great Ocean Walk and surrounding Otway's rainforest).
