Trip Summary

  • Nice (French Riviera)
    Nice (French Riviera)

Nice is the capital of the French Riviera, yet far less glamorous and expensive than Cannes. It's also one of the most ancient cities, having been founded by the Greeks, who called it 'Nike' or Victory. Because of its brilliant sunshine and relaxed living, it has attracted famous artists and writers in the past. Being the best trip base on the Riviera, you can choose to explore the region or lounge in its famous cafes. But the most obvious hangout spot here is the beach. The beach in Nice consists of rocks so wear a pair of good sandals.

Explore the Promenade des Anglais, Musee Matisse, Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Cours Saleya, Castle Hill, Old Town, Place Massena, and so much more!

  • St Paul de Vence
    St Paul de Vence

The charming hilltop village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, hovering between Nice and Cannes among the Provencal hills, has long drawn a chic crowd. Picasso and Matisse were among its pioneers. It has kept much of its medieval allure, and added a world-class art gallery to the mix. With an average of 300 days of sunshine a year, Saint-Paul has a uniquely mild climate. Most of the stone houses along rue Grande are from the 16th and 17th centuries, many still bearing the coats of arms placed here by the original builders. Today most of them are antique shops, art-and-crafts galleries, and souvenir gift shops.

Explore the Old Town, Place du jeu de boules, Porte de Vence, Marc Chagall Cemetery, Rue Grande, La Placette, Fondation Maeght, Chapelle Sainte-Claire, and so much more!

  • St Raphael
    St Raphael

The seaside resort of Saint-Raphael sits along the coast of the French Riviera between Saint Tropez and Cannes. It's a lively town with well maintained beaches and a small harbor nestled in the shadow of the forested hills of the Massif des Maures. The town is divided into two areas, the Vieux Port and the historic Old Town that lies inland with narrow streets and daily markets to explore. The beaches offer all variety of water sports, and there is a coastal footpath leading to the volcanic mountain range of the Esterel Massif.

Visit the Old Town, Massif de l`Esterel, Eglise des Templiers, Jardin Bonaparte, the beaches, Museum of Underwater Archaeology, Provencal markets, Basilique Notre-Dame de la Victoire, and so much more!
