The lush mountain town of Boquete, in the Chiriquí Province of Panama, sits only 35 miles from its western border with Costa Rica. At 3,600 ft. above sea level, Boquete-Chiriquí serves as a hub for the Baru Volcano, the De Fortuna Reserve, and the Amistad National Park which straddles the Costa Rica border, offering visitors excellent hiking, animal and bird watching, mountain biking, rafting, and a comfortable year-round climate that is ideal for outdoor adventures, and near-perfect for coffee cultivation. One of the main attractions is the cool climate of this part of the planet, a warm welcome respite from the hot and humid lowlands.
Highlights of Panama and Costa Rica!. Enjoy Panama City (with its famous Canal, charming Casco Viejo -historic center-, active cosmopolitan life and huge skyscrapers in the Finance Center of Central America). Continue to Bocas del Toro (a beautiful archipelago that boasts fine white sand beaches, excellent coral reef structures and nearby jungle rainforests). After that, is Boquete-Chiriqui (nestled amongst the country's most mountainous and breathtaking regions, offering visitors excellent hiking, animal and bird watching, mountain biking, and rafting adventure). Next, you will go back to Panama City, for one last stay. Take your flight to San Jose City in Costa Rica, from where you will continue directly to Arenal Volcano (youngest and one of the most active stratovolcano in Costa Rica, near Lake Arena); and after that, finish this trip in Tamarindo Beach (the most famous beach in Costa Rica, a three and a half kilometer stretch of white sand and warm blue water, with plenty of outdoor activities).
