35 Customer ReviewsI am always very happy with TripMasters and the service you provide. Nearly everything was wonderful :) One hotel, Grand Decameron, was very poor. On top of it being unclean, having multiple safety concerns, and really disappointing food, the customer service was terrible. I did not expect a luxury experience, but this was bad. Cleanliness: • Our room was not clean when we checked in. There were several large clumps of hair on the floor in the room, and the bathroom did not seem to be wiped down very well. • There was not enough staff to clean up after guests and limited garbage cans, and drink return locations for drinks for guests to clean up after themselves. Safety concerns: • Our balcony door did not lock. • The bathroom had a window you could not close and you could see into easily. My teenage son found this to be really unsettling and uncomfortable. • The “lifeguard” at the beach sat in a place where they could not see the shoreline. They would walk down to the shore every 15-30 minutes and look around. • At bar close each night (2am) there were groups of people yelling, screaming, fighting, and (I wish I were kidding) barking like dogs. It was beyond “drunk group of friends is talking too loud” and pretty concerning. • Stairs to get from the upper and lower levels of the resort were uneven in several places. Food: • The buffet was about what I expected. Decent variety of food, excellent fresh fruit, and many Panamanian options. • There were supposed to be 7 specialty restaurants. There were only 3 open. • The process to make a reservation at one of these was to go to the lobby at 7am, take a number, and wait. We arrived at 7am and were 40th in line. There was one person working to take reservations. It took us 1.5 hours to make our reservations. • The food at the specialty restaurants was not good. I expected it to be better than the buffet, but it was not. We ate at both the Italian and Mexican restaurants and were disappointed in both. Examples - Lasagna that didn’t have any cheese in the filling. Dry meat in the tacos. A pumpkin mouse dessert that was borderline inedible (same exact hard-jello-like texture and shape as the panna cotta served the night before that was also bad) The service was also lacking. Rooms were not ready at check-in, and then not ready again when they said it would be, and then still lacking towels when we were given a key. Pools were closed multiple days in a row when staff said they would be open. While there were individuals that were kind, as a whole the resort was not helpful. Best example would be trying to get a band-aid... we checked at one lobby, and were sent to another, there they said we had to wait until 9am, at 9am we were told we could buy a band-aid in the gift shop.

When you get past the first big thing you think of when you think of Panama, the Panama Canal, Panama is known for its beautiful beaches on both the Caribbean and Pacific coasts. They are perfect for a fun-in-the-sun vacation or a dream romantic getaway. There are great opportunities to participate in water sports, from surfing to jet skiing to parasailing. The beach towns and Panama`s cities both sizzle with great nightlife. Apart from the beaches and the cities, Panama is known for its diverse flora and fauna, much of which is found in nationally-protected wetlands and rainforests.
Visitors to Panama usually spend a few days in the glittering capital, Panama City, near the Panama Canal. Also near the Panama Canal, you can find Soberania National Park, a beautiful protected wetland home to unique flora and fauna. Playa Blanca and Playa Bonita are popular beach resorts to the west of the capital and the canal. If you are venturing to the west of the country, you can enjoy snorkeling in the Bocas del Toro Archipelago along the Caribbean coast, or hiking in the volcanic national parks of Boquete.
You can journey to Panama any month of the year, however, the dry period occurs between mid-December and mid-April which is usually considered the perfect time to visit. Conditions stays a considerable constant high throughout the year, 85 degrees Fahrenheit and over. On the Caribbean coast, there are abbreviated heavy outpours of rain almost daily, while the Pacific coast has a clear-cut wet season from May to November. We recommend approximately 7-10 days based on what you want to see and do. We offer flexible vacation packages so you can select your number of nights in each city, desired hotel and activities. We suggest a minimum of 3 nights in Panama City.
We recommend seeing Panama by air and by private transfer. Leave all of your transportation cares to us. If you will be visiting multiple destinations in Panama, you will be getting from point A to point B either by private transfer, in late-model, air-conditioned comfort, or by air, and from the airport you will take a private transfer to your hotel or resort.
The currencies of Panama are the Panamanian balboa (coins only) and the U.S. dollar (bills only). No currency exchange is necessary if you are arriving in Panama with U.S. dollars. For more information, see Tipping in Panama.
Spanish is the official language of Panama. About 1 in 8 people speak English fluently in Panama, with most of these people being in the business and tourism sectors. You will encounter many English speakers in Panama City and all tourist resorts in Panama, and at least a couple of English speakers even in more remote villages. Don`t assume everyone can speak English, however. Be prepared to learn basic Spanish phrases like hello/goodbye, please/thank you, how much is it?, where is the bathroom?, and the numbers from 1-10. To say `Do you speak English`, say `¿Habla ingles?`
