Haugesund Vacation Packages
Haugesund is a vibrant town, and a center for cultural festivals and business conferences. The largest cultural events held here are the Norwegian International Film Festival and Sildajazz, the former celebrating the herring - which was, for centuries, the base of the city's economy. Haugesund's architectural masterpiece is its pink city hall, built in 1931, designed in neoclassical style, and painted by the famous Alf Rolfsen. The stone cross at Krosshaugen is over 1000 years old and is a symbol of Norway's conversion to Christianity. From town you can also explore Haugalandet, Folgefonna Glacier, take in spectacular waterfall views, or learn more about the Viking Period.
