Knysna is a charming quaint town found along the famed Garden Route in the Western Cape of South Africa, a great base for exploring the scenic surroundings. Walk around the lagoon found at the heart of town, stay in upmarket hotels, dine in chic cafes, wander the waterfront lined with a wide variety of bars, restaurants, unique shops, and boutiques in the culinary capital of oysters. As a matter of fact, it is called the “jewel of the Garden Route.” It is very well known for its oysters and its wooden furniture. Many visitors enjoy the area's beaches, lagoon, and forest. Moreover, the Knysna lagoon, or estuary, is located where the Knysna River meets the sea.
