The charming town of Franschhoek is known as the "Valley of Vines" layered with acres of centuries-old vineyards. Soak up the Cape Dutch architecture that decorates the town, and explore the vibrant galleries and quaint antique shops lining the streets. Dine on delicious cuisine and sip on superb wines whilst taking in the breathtaking surroundings. As a matter of fact, it’s one of the oldest towns in South Africa. Believe it or not, its history goes back to 1688 when French Huguenot refugees started settling down in the valley bringing along the tradition of growing grapes and making wine.
