Poiana Brasov, located nine miles south-southwest of Transylvania`s capital, Brasov, is Romania`s leading ski resort. There are seven ski slopes and twelve runs in the resort area, located on Postavarul Mountain. Moreover, the charming cable car dates from the 1950s when Poiana Brasov was developed into the resort area we know today. Accommodations range from luxury chalets and resort hotels to cozy villas and cottages. Poiana Brasov is a very nice and cosy place, where you can find nice or even quite luxurios hotels. Believe it or not, it is perfect for outdoor activities in all seasons. Most visitors can ski, have some fun with your sleigh, walk, hitchhike, run as well as you can explore with some family or friends. As a matter of fact, if travelling on a really tight schedule, that's better than not seeing Brasov at all of course. However, the city is extremely charming and you'd need at least two days to fully appreciate it in a bigger scale.
