Aomori City is a port town that used to be the main departure point to Hokkaido via ferry; and, although it remains the main port for car ferries, after the opening of the Seikan Undersea Railway Tunnel, many travelers now bypass the city altogether. Today Aomori is best known for its spectacular Nebuta Matsuri summer festival, abundant apple production, and its incredible summertime Nebuta festivals - considered the best of all the summer Tohoku festivals.
Two fascinating regions; full of countryside, mountains, lakes, hot springs, snow and natural landscapes are at your disposal in this holiday package along Japan. Start in Tokyo (Japan’s busy capital); and from here, with the Rail Pass, combine and visit in Tohaku Region: Sendai (known as The City of Trees) and Aomori (one of the most beautiful and serene places to visit because of its abundance of natural landscapes). And, then, on the Hokkaido Island explore: Hakodate ( best known for the spectacular views to be enjoyed from Mount Hakodate and its delicious, fresh seafood); Noboribetsu (one of many well-known resorts in Japan, with many hotels and ryokans); and Sapporo (the capital of Hokkaido, known for its winter themes attractions such as a winter festival and ski resorts), before heading back home. This is a flexible vacation package. Select your number of nights in each city, desired hotel and activities.
