Salo Vacation Packages

Although Salo is known to have been inhabited as early as 7,000 years ago and has long been a center of rural commerce, it didn't officially become a town until 1960. Once home to Nokia headquarters, it feels like more of a rural countryside village surrounded by woodland than a city. Believe it or not, 'woodland' is the direct translation for Salo, and most visitors say that there's something quite special about this place. Discover the statue of Lauri, the blacksmith, standing in the center of town, and the Salo Art Museum Roundhouse, as well as the Meritalo Museum featuring Uskela Dress, and Uskela Church, which was built in 1832 after the plans of C. L. Engel, the most famous architect of his time in Finland.
