Saariselka is a mountain area and a village in Finland, located 155 miles north of the Arctic Circle, embraced by Saariselka fells and Urho Kekkonen National Park. This region is an important center of the fascinating Sámi or Lapp culture. It is criss-crossed by an extensive network of routes specifically for trekkers and it contains the enormous Lake Inarinjarvi. It is also a focal point for reindeer herding, fishing, crafts and tourist services. The skiing season in Saariselka begins in October and lasts until May. Winter activities range from cross-country skiing and downhill skiing to husky, reindeer and snowmobile safaris as well as ice-fishing. Furthermore, the clean breathtaking nature and the silence will offer you a relaxing vacation.
