Lying on Lake Fryken, Sunne is the center for tourism in Fryksdalen (Fryken Valley or The "land of legend"). Believe it or not, its scenic natural landscape is perfect for outdoor activities. Most visitors can hire a canoe, walk for a while or cycle in the nature reserves with their unique flora or play golf. Moreover, Sunne is a modern ski resort with facilities for both cross-country skiing and alpine skiing. As a matter of fact, Sunne has a humid continental climate. Due to moderating influences from the North Atlantic and the lake Vänern to its south, it is a lot milder than areas in northern Värmland or western Dalarna such as Höljes or Malung.
