Umeaa is the largest town in the north of Sweden, home of the famous Umeaa University (the most northern one in Europe). It is a city of knowledge and culture with a multiethnic population, offering world-class art, drama, films, plenty of industries, music and research. There are many different sights worth visiting in Umeaa region. As a matter of fact, for most visitors, 3 days in Umeaa is already a good time to see the best that city has to offer. But if you can spare couple of days more that’s even better, you can take the sights more slowly. Located by the Ume River, close to where it empties into the Gulf of Bothnia. Northern Sweden’s largest university is here, in a young culturally-vibrant city in pristine surroundings.
