Le Mans means racing: The city is where 'the 24 hours of Le Mans' is held annually, since 1923, a sports car endurance race over an 8-mile long circuit. The contest lasts no less than 24 hours. In addition to the world-famous race circuit, the city offers a beautiful well preserved medieval historic center with beautiful terraces, cobblestone streets, half-timbered houses and historic buildings.
