Penzance, facing the shores of Mount's Bay has one of the mildest climates in the UK. By the19th century it became home to Cornwall's only promenade and later the Jubilee Pool, Britain's largest outdoor lido. Visit the seafront Penzance and take part of the recently revived Golowan Festival, admire the landscape of West Cornwall, littered with ancient sites dating back to the Stone and Bronze Ages, the gardens, galleries and museums, the historic Chapel Street with its eclectic mix of shops, houses and hotels most of which date back to the 18th century and before.
