The unique Alpine resort of Canazei, situated near the Pordoi, Sella, and Fedaia passes, is part of the Dolomiti Superski area, which boasts several downhill ski-runs. Wedged into a narrow cleft of forest and rock at the far end of the Val di Fassa, this friendly, unpretentious resort offers quick access to some of the most scenic intermediate skiing in Europe. A cable car ascends to the Punta Rocca panoramic terrace on Marmolada peak, making a stop at the Marmolada Great War Museum, with displays on WWI. And don't miss the Sass Pordoi Mountain with views stretching as far as the Swiss and Austrian Alps. Although Canazei is smaller resort, it's a beautiful tourist destination that is well worth a visit.
