Alcala de Henares Vacation Packages

Just about 20 miles east of Madrid lies Alcala de Henares, an idyllic gem of a town with centuries of history around every picturesque corner. Believe it or not, there's plenty to see and do in the city of Cervantes that will have you hooked almost instantly with a walk around this UNESCO World Heritage city. Even if you haven't read "Don Quixote," the name likely rings a bell. Its author, Miguel de Cervantes, is considered one of the greatest literary minds in the Spanish language. As a matter of fact, he was born in Alcala de Henares on September 29, 1547, in a modest home that still survives today as a museum. Being in Alcala is also an advantage if you’re hungry, because the town is famous for its abundant and delicious tapas, served in most bars when you order a drink.
