La Seu d'Urgell has become a top tourist destination, both for its artistic and monumental heritage and for its sports facilities and proximity to the ski resorts. In fact, due to the large number of sports activities that can be carried out in the municipality, the Catalan Tourism Agency has certified it as a DTD (Sports Tourism Destination). It has always been a crossroads and a step towards Andorra. This strategic position and the political importance of the Bishopric made the region a predominant nucleus in medieval times. Many vestiges remain from that time and a cathedral that is a jewel of Catalan Romanesque. La Seu d'Urgell offers numerous places of interest in the historic center, such as a visit to the Diocesà Museum. Furthermore, the Segre Park and the green routes are just two of the many options for lovers of active tourism.
