On the eastern coast of beautiful Asturias lies the strip of low cliffs and beaches which has come to be known as the Dinosaur Coast. The name is earned because it seems every day that passes more fossils and traces of a fertile colonization of dinosaurs is uncovered. The coastal strip originates in Gijon and stretches through Villaviciosa to Colunga (where the Jurassic Museum is located) and on to Ribadesella. Let your imagination fly as you cast your gaze along the stretches where the dinosaurs left their heavy footprints millions of years ago (some of which you can still see preserved). In addition to the pre-historic treasures found here, the area is renowned for its beaches, proximity to natural parks, cider, and cuisine.
