Ribera del Duero is one of Spain`s most prestigious wine regions. This wine region is located in Castilla Leon. Its reputation is largely thanks to the high-quality of its red wines made mainly from Tempranillo grapes. Castilla Leon (north and northwest of Madrid) is made up of 9 provinces and it is Spain`s number one region in terms of Unesco classified sites. Castilla Leon is full of Monasteries, castles, churches, cathedrals, fortresses, and more. The Ribera del Duero wine route runs through inland Spain, and more particularly, through four provinces in Castile and León: Burgos, Segovia, Soria and Valladolid.
