In the center of the fertile plain of the river Segre sits Lleida, a city which has played host to several cultures throughout its history. Prominent atop a hill in the historic quarter of the city is the old cathedral or Seu Vella, symbol of the capital. Whichever season you choose for your trip, in the province of Lleida you’ll find lots to do, interesting monuments and hidden nooks and crannies. It’s well known for its natural beauty and for being an excellent place for all sorts of mountain sports such as skiing, MTB and trekking. If you take a stroll around the old city center, you’ll see that buildings dating from the modernist era have been preserved. You’ll also come across the Palace of La Paeria, today home to the city council. And you’ll be able to take a walk along the riverbank in the La Mitjana park.
