The Chattahoochee National Forest is found in the North Georgia Mountains. It covers 749,689 acres, managed by six ranger districts. The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests have 37 developed recreation areas, 500 developed campsites, 200 picnic sites, 6 swim beaches and 530 miles of trails. Numerous animals can be found in this forest including birds such as species of hawk, species of owl, blackbirds, ducks, eagles, sparrows, and cardinals. Mammalian species that roam in the forest are for example the American black bear.
