Door County is situated on a peninsula of the same name in eastern Wisconsin, with Green Bay to its west and Lake Michigan to its east. Door County is a very popular summer travel destination, one of the most popular in the Midwest in fact. It is sometimes called `the Cape Cod of the Midwest` due to the small towns` penchants for fish boils, their numerous lighthouses, and the federally protected landscapes and beachscapes surrounding them.
