Ithaca is a city on Cayuga Lake, one of the Finger Lakes of New York. It is the home of Ithaca College and Cornell University, and is known for its natural beauty, including two waterfalls near downtown, and scenic hiking trails in and around gorges southwest of town at Buttermilk Falls and Robert H. Treman State Parks. The Cornell campus, which includes the F.R. Newman Arboretum and the Cornell Botanic Gardens, sits northeast of downtown, south of Triphammer Falls. You never know what you'll discover with all the things to do in Ithaca. It could be something fleeting, like a rainbow in the mist of one of the many Ithaca waterfalls, or something like insight from an acclaimed speaker on campus at Cornell University.
