Durango is a small city in southwestern Colorado, near the New Mexico border. The 19th-century Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad steam train passes mountains and canyons. In the city center, its affiliated Railroad Museum displays restored locomotives, aircraft and a baggage car converted into a movie theater. Nearby, the Powerhouse Science Center offers interactive exhibits in a former power plant.
Base yourself in Colorado and explore its beautiful surrounding and natural attractions with a Rental Car. Visit Alamosa (the gateway to Great Sand Dunes National Park, an incredible experience with outdoor trails and entertainment) before heading to Durango (famous for the historic narrow gauge railroad that connects Durango with Silverton) and Ouray (home base for the beautiful San Juan Mountains and National Forest). Finally enjoy a pleasant stay in Grand Junction (known as the hub of Colorado's wine country), before heading back home. Entrance to national parks is not included. Plan your visit according to your schedule and be sure to check each park's operating hours. This is a flexible vacation package.
